      Comments:

Bought the Ion I as a gift for a friend's child to increase visibility to cars while riding around the neighborhood. With more and more distracted drivers, a light is a great investment in safety that allows kids to extend their rides, particularly during the spring and fall when daylight hours are gone too fast.

This one works, the ION 2 does not

      Comments:

The ION 1 light has one big advantage over the ION 2: it will turn off completely for long battery life. I gave this unit only 4 stars because its blink mode is useless to me. The strobe reflects off my cable housings and is extremely irritating. I have seen these on approaching bikes at night and find them horrible to face too. And, I find it steadier if I attach it to my handlebars upside down. The conventional mounting attitude accentuates the wobble initiated by a rocking bike while inverted mounting counteracts the bike motion. Nice light.

      Good light to be seen

        Comments:

I got this light as a gift when I started bike commuting to work. The light works well if you need to be seen, the flashing mode is great for making sure you are noticed. However, if you plan on riding at night you will want something brighter as this doesn't illuminate well enough to see where you are going at any decent speed on a bike. Mount has worked fine and no problem with the fucntions of the light itself. This is a good choice provided you don't need it to see, only to be seen.
