Trek 1.2 T

Trek's 1.2 Triple is a shining example of trickle-down technology. The heart and soul of this speed demon is Trek's aluminum frame and Bontrager's carbon fork, an impressive combination often seen on much more expensive machines. Add Shimano's reliable, summit-topping 27-speed drivetrain, powerful dual-pivot brakes and select Bontrager parts and you have an amazing road rig ready to take you everywhere you want to go, from touring the countryside to cruising local loops for fitness.

Comments:

I'm an entry-level cyclist. Did two months of research on road bikes from entry-level to the higher end bikes (not just treks but specialized, giants, bmc, canon dale, etc.) and realized that trek seems to give you your bang for the money. I spent at least three hours a day reading and comparing bikes. It turns out the trek 1.2 2013, has been dramatically been upgraded from the previous year. With different shaping in the tube diameter to reduce weight, better components than previous years, awesome features in the fork, fork being carbon.I purchased it three weeks ago and already put 100miles on it. I love how easy it is to ride, despite the saddle being a bit hard for a beginners. (Butt hurts like crazy!) the shifting is responsive, the stiffness of the bike makes it easy to crank at it on up hills, and I love the color scheme on it. Compare to my roommate's 1.1 it's way lighter in weight. Also love the fact that the spokes that come with this model are the aero-flats (not sure if that is the technique name for them) but instead of the tradition round spokes, they are shaped a bit more flat to reduce wind drag. It also has the nice option of the speed trap also which is a plus! With the spec that comes with this bike I think it's worth the money. With its competitors in its class, nothing beats the prices and what u get for it.Not much negative things to say about this bike, other than the saddle being hard. But then again that's a beginners butt I'm riding on. Thanks trek for making amazing bikes.
